deal of the week, I take that back: deal of the year

I was in the produce department today at Meijers, finishing up my grocery shopping when an employee approached me and told me that the girls’ Easter dresses were all 90% off which was making them about $1.99.  She told me that she was telling all the moms who had little girls with them.

I don’t usually take Mary to Meijers for my weekly grocery trip because she seems to fizzle out and get cranky before I’m done, but today, I didn’t need to get as much so I decided to take her with me and I’m so glad that I did.

I went to the girls’ clothing department and scanned the racks for a sign that said Easter clearance or some such thing, but didn’t see anything like that so I just headed over to the dressy dresses. The sign said 30-50% off and were all marked with sale tags $12-$14. I grabbed one in Mary’s size and scanned the bar code. (there’s a handy dandy price checker on the pole next to the dressing room.)

Sure enough, it said $1.99.  WOW.  Most of the remaining dresses were even in Mary’s size. We picked out a couple for Mary and one for Emma and then went across the aisle to the baby and toddler department to see if we might find dresses for Savannah and Izzy.

We came home with 6 dresses for only $13.29 which would have been $125.94 plus tax at full price.

Entry filed under: deal of the week, family.

WOW! That’s awesome, ebay here I come..lol The best deal I ever got was at sears, they had discounted their Lands End Kids stuff and had these five dollar off coupons. I had tons of the coupons so I picked two items (shirt, shorts, etc.) that added up to $5 and ended up only paying tax. I looked for the highschool check out girl and rang each group of two up separately, ended up with a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff for less than $10.

Wow, what a great deal! Of course, my next question is whether there are any left at prices like that. I could dress my girl for Easter for years to come if they do. *plots*
