“I need that please,” said Mary. “What do you need, honey?” said Mom.


“This?” Mom said, pointing to an object.

“No, THAT,” Mary said a little louder.

“This one?”

No, THAT one!” Mary shouted.

“Mary, sweetie, use your words.”


Mom laughs. “I don’t know what you want. Why don’t you show me. Take me there.”



“Yes,” said Mary, nodding her head.

Mom is relieved that she finally figured out what Mary needed.
